I love my dolls. I thought I loved sharing them...
But really I am so busy it is more of a private endevour nowadays. I lost my zeal after that Xmas swap. It was lovely. I got my gifts out and I received all of my gifts but after that the need to socialize with other doll owners just seeped right out of me. The need to keep up with what is new in the ABJD world and what new trends were popping up just wasn't there anymore. Then we went to China and sometime after that I got sick and well the outside world just really flew out the window.

Anyway, I've had him for over a year. I did show his body in a story journal but I didn't do much else after that. This weekend I made it my goal to finalize a face-up and replace those ratty lounge pants. His shirt is still terrible so I will probably work on that hoody I talked about in my personal journal.

So anyway... Yeah, this is Ama. He likes to be called Amarant.

(o.O) Aaaah! What do I make?!

I got two boys. :d Tricky tricky. I guess I could make scarves.
I don't really have any good colours... Maybe need to hop over to Hancocks, Michaels, or Wal*Mart. *pumbles deeply*
I would love to knit a sweater... but I'm not so good at those. Crocheting would take too long and it gets a little thick.
Too bad I didn't get any girls. I was looking forward to making some kanzashi or frilly underthings.

Maybe I will make scarves like these Gryffindor ones I made earlier. But in soft black and gray micro-spun. One of them might like a hooded scarf with pocket ends. Hum. I only have til the end of the month. Not much time. Could make some flannel boxers... hee. A warm set consisting of scarf and cozy boxers. XD

After we repaired Ema we went to Michigan to visit with my parents. Mom was very impressed by Aumery and Ema, my sister thought they were beautiful. LuiLui (Elaina), my cousin JiaLan's eldest daughter and my flower girl, had a lot of fun playing a little with Ema. Ema's wig kept falling off though. After we came back from Michigan in September I got wrapped up in getting ready for a con that was this past weekend. Now I can go back to doting on my cuties.

Ah, Serendipity's new boy is wonderful! I am quite willing to drop L-Bi now. His chest is a little odd but as a stuffy guardian he won't be without his shirt much. Happydoll hasn't restocked Mill in a long time... So I was thinking Mini-Soo is so adorable! Soo is lovely but with Ema I didn't want another big girl anymore. Also, I am still tempted by Volks MSD Hisui. I know she's limited but she's available through FCS, too. Through FCS I would get her with tabi feet, sitting body, and sunlight skin. ;D Mini-Soo or FCS Hisui... o.o too cute couple of michievious girls. Though Serendipity Shall on the new Serendipity girl body... heh heh *flaps around batty*

I hope everyone gets better from your downs. *hugs* I think we're missing the sun already.

Ema's part came to the door yesterday. I was so surprised the mailman rarely comes up to deliver a package. Usually they call the wrong number and leave a pink note in the mailbox. I think he wanted to see "Ms. Saucy Tart" receive her "Toys"... I guess he was expecting a cam girl porn star or something. Ah well. At least Ema is all fixed. I fought a little with the process but it was all good in the end. I did order an option part for Ema but it is so dark toned compared her skin. :( I didn't think she was white toned. Ah well. Live and learn.

After Ema prettied up Aumery and her had a long conversation. It was so sweet as Aum walked Ema over to a window so they could enjoy the sunshine. I think they are fast becoming very close friends. :D

It appears the Unoa girls will be available before the end of the year... I wonder if I should get Lusis. She could be a tomboy or maybe is posing as a guy. Or I could maybe trade her for an L-bi with someone whose L-bi is posing as a woman. ;D

Random Thoughts

Oh first before I forget. ParaBox finally sent Ema's part after I fired off an inquiry e-mail yesterday. I must be becoming an expert at checking in as it seems like a third the stuff I order online is never sent until I ask about it.

This is my current take of "The Plan: I want to grow my doll family".

HappyDoll Mill tops the list. Her name will be Feilyn but everyone calls her by some form of Fei. A scene that is impressed in my mind constantly when I envision her is a loli running down a hall or a hill with arms spread aeroplane style. With a look of sunlit joy on her face. I also wanted a slim MSD sized girl. So no MSDs or DoDs or BF for her. Though I do love the MSD Hisui but she looks like a schemer. DoDs Pitts and Twing-key are really beautiful but they don't exude joy. And none of the BFs look right for her. While a Seredipity or U-noa or Super Dollfie Cute would be nice they seemed a little too grown up or their faces too serious. HappyDoll Elf girls are slim but not too slim so they appear more girlish. The drawback would be there really isn't a market for HDE clothes. Not very many people have them. :p But I guess that fits with her personality in that she doesn't have to work for monetary gain. I love the current default face-up they have for her the only thing I will request is no orange contour blush on her cheeks and chin but across her nose with a sprinkle of freckles. She is always escaping into the sun. This is always exasperating her guardian who worries she won't grow up to be a fair lady.

Her guardian for now is delegated to a U-noa L-bi. I have always loved U-noa Lusis but since I want a boy I think L-bi would be great! I wanted someone who looks worried and isn't firm. Someone for Feilyn to wrap around her little finger and to chase after her. I haven't thought of a good name for him yet. If I can't ge a hold of an L-bi I am thinking Narin might fit but the new Narins look so happy I am thinking it isn't so good. Should Serendipity release a boy that is perfect then I would get him. DoD Si is another fall back choice. I am curious about the larger DoDs and HDJs but by the time I save up money I am sure my curiousity will be sated. I must say I dread the wait for a U-noa. I don't know if I could last that long for such a large amount of money.

I have an aching for a tiny... just because they're cute. I especially like Leeke's Joy and Honey.

This has been on my mind for a really long time but I really want a Volks FCS Sunlight SD13 Girl. It's crazy and I want to name her Buyako (in katakana, of course). I just imagine this crazy tanned gal living it up. I want her to be on the larger breasted body and to have this wavy long hair that's either blonde or silver. I haven't decided which head mold yet but I figure we'll see what is available if I ever scrape up the funds. Namie-dono, I will need your help when the time comes to pick out her face. ;D Oh, and help me decided if tabi feet or high-heel feet would be best.

I suppose we will see what the future holds for me and my fascination with the need for more dolls. I really need some local friends with dolls to feed off. XD It would probably save me a lot of money.

Aumery's shoes and boots came in a few days ago.
They are a tight fit but they fit. *fight fight fight*
Coming all the way from Hong Kong these lovely PoshDolls shoes should go with most of his clothes.

Aum: What is this supposed to be?
ev: Ahm, a sweater? Sorry I'm not good at crochet. But hopefully it will be good when it is done.
Aum: I am sure it will be warm.
ev: Ahaha. You're too kind.

Aum: Would you like some candy?

Ah, even though he fought posing for most of the day. (Really need to suede, tighten, and wire him.)

Aumery's first face-up

Ahem, may I present the constantly quizzical M. Aumery ImberUlf. *suppressed giggle*

First, drag out all of your art supplies. (Even stuff you don't think you will use. Like the hot glue gun and button press. j/k)

Prepare the subject. Base coats are always good. I used Testors Dullcote on Aumery. I use gesso on my minis but maybe I will try Dullcote next time. It is easier to use but with more dangerous fumes. Which is why I use a fancy respirator!

Do you like my asparagus band? I tried to make even eyebrows with it but I got impatient. Thus Aumery has uneven eyebrows. Poor guy. ;D I had just fished his head out of the spray box so I could do the finishing touches. I touched up the eyebrows, pinked around his eyes and reddened the rims, added a peachy layer over the yellow and brown layers of his lips. Then I applied the final coat of Dullcote and gave his lips two layers of satin gloss. :)

At this point I put on eyelashes... And busted out laughing... They ended up much too girly and when I tried to correct one set I completely ruined them so no eyelashes for Aum. But I don't think he needs them anyway.

ev: Give us a little wave.
Aum: *weak wave*
ev: *cracks up*

I should have cleaned up the corners of his mouth better so it would be like he smiles more. With the flash he looked like I just interupted his favorite story and without he looks like he's happy to talk to me.

My absolute favorite picture out of all the ones I took. He looks like he just looked up at me from a humourous part of his book. I guess he must have learned a funny word because that's a dictionary he's holding. I used this as a thank you picture for Luts. Even if he is a little untidy looking. I tried to take this picture before the sun hid behind a cloud and forgot to "fluff" him.

Okay kiddos that's all for now. Sorry, I've been unresponsive as usual. Maybe I don't need to apologize I do this so much. *likes to live like a hermit*

:p Bleh. Waiting for the maintenace people to caulk the ceiling before diving into working on Aumery's face-up. But I don't know when they will come so it is on hold for now. I only put a base coat on him. *makes funny darth vader noises with her mask*
I did make him a turtleneck and he looks very nice in it. I make the neck and sleeves long so I could style them into all sorts of moods. Also a matching pair of socks were made from the pattern posted on Hound Calling a Y! group for DollShe dolls. They fit very nicely. I was thinking of making him some sandals from old magazines but I spent more time cleaning up after myself instead. Aumery decided he wanted to talk to me.

Aum: Ah, ev I would like to speak with you.
ev: Dah... okay. :: Aww... those blue green eyes match his turtleneck so well. ::

Aum: Is Ema's surgery really as easy as you say it is?
ev: Uh, yeah no problem. :: Dang, those eyes make him so serious looking. ::
Aum: Really? You are not holding back any information? Do you need assistance?
ev: Well, the part I need to remove be hard because the post is missing to pull on. But really it is all good. I prefer if no one watches. If I do need help I think Tiffany will be more helpful in the matter being an Obitsu herself. Besides you know how shy Emalaude is, she would be horrified if you were there overlooking the ordeal.

Aum: I apologize for the questioning it just seems this matter has more to it.
ev: Don't worry about it. I'm a great cosmetic surgeon. ;D

ev: Oh ho ho ho. I am sure it will be all good in the end. Hey, I never noticed that your cross was green before. Always thought it was black. Hey, ya know what we should look into what your face-up should be like. *goes over to a bookshelf and pulls out some materials* Here's a Volks brochure and some Volks pattern books, a couple of issues of haute doll, FDQ... And if those don't interest you there's a ton of anime artbooks over here and Gothic & Lolita bibles... *babbles on while walking out of the room*

I cannot seem to get a signal to Y! 360.

Today, ev told me to kick back and relax because she was going to try to clean up the studio. She says the finished projects need to be swept out of the way before she can start the new ones. I talked to Emalaude for most of the day. She is resting mostly and awaiting the surgery ev will perform. Emalaude is very brave though she assures me ev can handle the job. I feel a little angry that Emalaude was hurt in the first place. ev seems to be hiding something about the surgery. I will question her some more.

We went to the postoffice to mail some packages. We also checked to see if we could bail Aumery out but he had already left. :(
So I waited and waited for the phone to ring all day. It finally rang close to 7:00pm. :p
I was so happy I was bouncing around the elevator. Usually, I take the stairs when I'm alone.
The mailcarrier handed over Aumery and I was ready to squee. I gave a little squee as I was unlock the door. heh.
We had lost the light of the day. Joe imported the living room lamp to the arrival area and it still wasn't bright enough.
So please forgive the pictures as our camera is getting on in age and the light was not so good.

ev: Is everybody ready?
Mai: He's probably suffocating and you're worrying if he has enough clothes.
Tiff: All set over here.
Ema: Yes, I am ready.

I broke Ema during the photoshoot.
We ordered a replacement part.
I feel really really bad about it.
But once's she's fixed good as new it will be all happy again.
So she's laid up for now and I will continue to discuss with Mr. ImberUlf what sort of face-up he would like. Aumery also has his own Y! blog. I don't know how he posts to it. Maybe a cellphone?
Until then sorry again I haven't commented or posted lately!

Boo. The mailcarrier dialed the wrong call number so we did not know the postman was trying to call up to the studio to drop off Aumery. So Aumery is now back at the postoffice. But wow fast! I guess he got through customs okay. :D Today, I think I may make up those boxers and maybe start on the couch. ^_^

Yesterday, the hubby and the me went to Otakon and enjoyed ourselves. There were so many dolls in the artist alley! They all look so small in person to me. I always expect them to be huge and they never are. Even Donn of Bishonen House's dolls! I guess it is different when you pick them up and play with them but just displayed I don't think of them as so large. The BJD offerings were all very nice but nothing really jumped out at me and said, "You must buy me for Ema/Aum!" It would have been kind of cool if it did. Though the plaything t-shirt at the Bishonen House booth came close, it just nipped at my fingers. I did not chat with any doll owners as I was not holding one I did not feel comfortable chatting. Plus not everyone in the BJD world accepts 60cm Obitsu.

Hound shipped. Yay!
Looks like I will have time to make him that top this weekend. I have a feeling he is the type to get cold easily. The girls will probably coddle him with offers of their scarves and furs until I make him some proper clothes. I have been sewing so much lately that it will be a relief to sit down and do his face-up.
Oh and it looks like I can save a bunch of money by ordering a large bust for Ema from ParaBox. Like almost $100! Maybe I can used that saved money at Otakon this weekend to buy treats for all the dollies. ;D

I made some icons for me and the girls. (Had to get a paid account though... Maybe I can hire someone to make over the journal.) So maybe that will inspire the girls to post? I don't know.
So... yeah, I should probably clean up an area in the place so we can take some arrival pictures. Imagine a parlour-boarder in this studio that looks like a storage room. o.O I boggle deeply... while I clean. ;D

Day 10 of Haund Watch

I am suspecting he will have the larger eye wells so the 16mm blue green eyes I bought so long ago will probably fit him. I bought some 16mm acrylic grey ones. I had also purchased 14mm glass violet colored eyes, they came in the oval shape. Rip off. :p But they're very pretty and with the way Hound's eyes are I don't think there is a need to return them. I just overpaid for them. I guess I don't need the 16mm eye beveler anymore. I will probably sell it if he doesn't need it. I hope his wigs fit or he will end up with Ema's pink wig. XD hee hee or I could just rub his noggin. Whee!

He still needs shoes. I will need to find sometime to do that.
I want to make him more of a substantial top also.

I hope he isn't flirting with a Lishe or a Shiwoo. He needs to come home. :) No broken hearts, please! I would like to have him in hand while shopping at Otakon. Artist Alley will have some BJD items and I am looking forward to shopping in person rather than online.

Ema has changed a little since she first arrived. She seems to have forgotten her French but that's okay since I don't understand French. It turns out she's a very sweet girl. I hope our new housemate doesn't change her too much.

I have been toying around with some Chinese themes lately. I am drafting some patterns for some new clothes. The brocades are so beautiful I don't want to cut into them. XD So instead today I just kind of draped Ema in a piece to enjoy the whole spendor of it. She got a new wig from audreysdolls.com. It is a Monique wig in the Michiko style in size 8-9.

I also got some 16mm blue-green acrylic eyes but I don't feel they suit Ema very well. I will save them for a future doll or donate them. The HLJ order is sitting at the post office right now. Yay! Presents for my girls. I got a chair from my mom that fits Tiff but I think I need to take the back cushion off so she isn't being pushed out of it. XD

Ah! DoD and eLuts raised their prices. *nudges the US dollar* Please grow dollars. Do you need water? Please get better and stronger. Luckily Cue from eLuts is still the same price. \o/ There is a Too and Bee-A pair(Woo, doll nudity.) on eBay right now. Hmmm... XD DoD also is releasing 4 new male dolls. They're cute but none of call to me. Probably because I want girls instead of boys most of the time. Maybe I will have my twelve girls of Jinling. ;DDD

Tiff: Yay! We get to go outside.
Ema: I am so nervous. ev said a lot of other dolls will be there. Beautiful ones.
Tiff: We're beautiful, too. Isn't that why we get to go and not Mai?
Mai: *offscreen* Pffbbt! Meanie.

Ema: Good morning ev, I see you sneaking around.
ev: Morning girls. Sorry, I thought I could snap some shots quietly.
Tiff: You would have to be super sneaky.
ev: I'll try harder next time. Ready to go girls?
Tiff and Ema: Ready!

ev: Okay, all secured and safely buckled.
Tiff: Do we get to watch a movie?
Ema: Or look at a book?
ev: Uhm... No, but we can listen to the radio.

ev: Uh... Joe, I think I messed up the directions.

Lavender Fields wasn't hard to find once one finds the correct exit. ;D
It was very cute and the drive was very pleasant. When we got there we spotted Jibrille's Saori (Dollfie Dream) in the screened porch area. And Jibby came out and greeted us. Turns out we were the first one to make it. Everyone else got delayed and one cancelled. Everyone started arriving so we set up on the porch and just chatted and ate the yummies. I loved the scones and apple cider. The pure honey was really good and I don't really feel all that partial to honey. It still had some comb in it and had a neat texture. I got cinnamon ice cream and Joe got pumpkin ice cream. siilence and I exchanged swap gifts. Ema has her first piece of jewelry. A lovely necklace with a wire wrapped bead. Now I need to make a blue outfit to match. *excited* The faux fur scarf I made looked great on Sun-Sin. The last group arrived and while they got some refreshments and set some of their items up we moved outside.

The bees were rather attracted to our group. This is a bee in Joe's cup.

This is Abbey taking in the sun in front of the gift shop. She sure does love her sun bathing.

We did some group pictures. This isn't even everyone's dolls! Everyone only carried one or two dolls out to the bench.

Everyone admiring the view. Soon after this I broke the lovely sight by yoinking Ema and Tiff off to take some solo pictures. That kind of spurred a mass exodus to finding the perfect photo sites. Oops.

Joe and I slowly waded through slippery leaves and a steep area that overlooks the river to get to this log.

Joe and I were worried that Ema wouldn't be balanced correctly so Joe stood as a catcher.
When I snapped the shot the wind had really picked up. o.o *so worried*

These chairs are so cute! I liked the pink one best. Very sunny out.

Okay, red wagons rock. Especially since Ema has magnets in her feet. ;D

So many wonderful little accents here and there.

We missed out on the pumpkin craze sweeping through DoA.
Ema kept using the pumpkin as a slide though. ^^*

After these shots the battery started dying and I meant to swap the batteries but I forgot. We made fairy veils for our dolls. I made one for the option head and Joe made one for the default head. I think they turned out pretty good.

After Lavender Fields closed Joe and I headed home. It was a lot of fun. The time went by so quickly and there was so much to chat about. ^-^* Everyone is very interesting and so knowledgable. We got some more gifts, too. Elle made everyone a necklace for a doll and julidc made some fimo pumpkin pie slices. So cute!!! I was so tempted to buy some of the items the others were selling but must restrain myself until after buying gifts for Christmas. Plus, I figured out my next addition to my doll family. ;)

Making a gothic wig

Today I tried to make another wig.

First we need to make a weft.

Then we need a wig cap to sew the weft to.

Ema: Oh, Salut Mai.
Mai: Hi Ema, I have something to tell you!

Ema: Oh what do you wish to tell me.
*gets up on the table to hear Mai better*

Mai: You're getting a boob job!
Ema: A boob job!

Ema: What is a boob job?
Mai: Gimme a sec and I'll show you.

Ema: Ooph!
Mai: Tada! Put them on

A little later...
Mai: Heh hee my own chocolate mountain...
Ema: I am done. Now tell me about this "boob job".
Mai: ev is going to make you work. Now that's a boob job.

Ema: What?! Why do I have to work?
Mai: ev said she was making you a Cinderella costume so she could put you to work.

Ema: Cinderella. I don't want to be an ashella...
Mai: I guess we'll call you Ella now instead of Ema. ev will be your evil stepmomma from now on... I bet she'll make you scrub the floors after her programme. I'm going to tell Tiffany she is a wickedly beautiful stepsister.

Ema: Dolly did you sell me into slavery...? *sobs*
ev: Ema... Are you crying?
Ema: Mai said you were going to put me to work...
ev: Well yes, I want you to be my model. Is it that so bad?

Ema: Really? I am so glad. I won't get a boob job.
ev: Eheheh... well you are... but...
Ema: ???
ev: uh... Oh I see you found your Cinderella costume.

Ema: Yes, it is lovely. Do I get to keep it?
ev: Sure! It looks very nice on you.

Ema: Hooray!
ev: It is getting late. You should change into your chemise.

Ema: Okay, there. *toss*
ev: eep, she's so cute.

Ema: Alors! I almost forgot. I need to put that apron back on.
ev: Okay, here let me help you tie that.

Ema: Okay, I have everyone's chocolat. I'm ready to go.
ev: So sweet.

Some pictures I took after I finished Ema's face-up on the option head. I call it Solange because she is like a sunny angel.

She didn't turn out quite like I expected but I do like it. Has a flushed Chinese ghost feel to her. Though her face is a little shiny I don't mind since mine is too. (^-^)* I did her face with acrylic satin gloss, water, and watercolour pencils. I tried acrylics but I am too slow for them. Next time I'll get some Mr. Super Clear and retardant for the paint. Her eyes are Animetic Type C eyes in Cherry Blossom, though though they look grey most of the time. The pink Ao Dai at HLJ.com is available again but I don't know if I want to buy clothes. :9 I'll just hope I can figure out how to make one myself. Ema needs proper shoes. Too bad she won't have any for the meetup at Lavender Fields this weekend. Next time hopefully.

October 27th: Peach Slip found in the mailbox.
October 28th: Trip to Beauty Supply store for "beauty supplies" and to the Post Office to receive box mentioned on the Peach Slip.

Tiff: Goodness what is this box?
Mai: ev said it was doll stuff. Let's open it!
Tiff: ev will be right back she just wanted to cool off after walking back from the post office.
Mai: Pfff, I'm going in!

Tiff: Oh my day, hello in there. I'm Tiffany.
Mai: I'm Mai! *rustles around* So much stuff in here...

???: Salut, could you help me out?
Tiff: Oh right. *starts pushing packing peanuts off*
Mai: *starts digging*

Mai: Ahh! Now help me!
???: Oh yes, bien sur!
Tiff: *giggles*

Mai: Whew! Thanks.
Tiff: I am afraid we didn't get your name.
???: Please call me Ema.
Tiff: That is a nice name.
Mai: Hey, there are some more things in the box!

Mai: Ahh! Where is the rest of it?!
Tiff: It's okay it's an option head.
Ema: Oh yes, isn't she nice?
Mai: You Obitsus are weird.

Mai: Anyway, I think these are for you. ev has been working hard.
Ema: Merci.
Tiff: We hope they suit you.

Ema: How do we look?
Tiff: Lovely!
Mai: It's a little big. Maybe I can fix that for you.

Anyway, it was a fun filled day. Dolly was super nice and threw in the wig as a surprise! Which was wonderful because the night before I couldn't seem to get a wig made at all. :p I tried a face-up the next day on the option head but ended up wiping it. I messed up the lips which in turned messed up the rest of the face. Oops. But it wasn't hard and definately fun. So I will try again soon. I am still debating on wiping the default head since Dolly did such a nice job. (^-^)* The magnets are pretty strong. Ema can stand on moon cake tins, the stove, floor lamp bases, and the dressform base. XD I hope the poles on the lamps and dressform doesn't make her think she is a pole dancer! She turned out slightly French. I had no idea that could happen!

Today, I finished a costume for Ema. I will have a photostory of that up soon!
